An invitation to dinner
Greetings, one and all.
Most of you will not know who I am, although I have corresponded with a few of you over the years. Allow me a small moment of your time to introduce myself.
My name is Josef Mendel, and I have recently arrived in your fair country on my travels. As you may have guessed from my name, I am originally from German, but I have not resided there for some years. Most recently I have been staying in China, studying ancient Taoist beliefs with venerable monks.
My pilgrimage has seen fit to wend it's path to these fine shores, and I find that the atmosphere is most convivial to my studies. I hope to meet with many of you over the comings months before my travels take me off elsewhere again.
In that spirit, I would like to invite those of who find yourself in London at a lose end this Sunday, the second of May, to join me for dinner. I have arranged for a small private room booked in my name at {blah mid-priced restaurant} from 8pm. I would be most delighted to hear about the country and city I have moved to, and especially interested in any stories of the unnatural in the city. I have found from my time in China, that a modern version of ghost tales around a camp fire does wonders for the digestion.
